Farragut Capital Partners was formed in 2011 as the continuation of a long and successful tradition of investing mezzanine and private equity capital in leading small and mid-sized U.S. businesses. The firm is licensed by the U.S. Small Business Administration as a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) and is currently investing out of its third SBIC fund. Farragut works closely with equity sponsors, senior lenders, and directly with management teams to create and build value in our portfolio companies over time. Our continuous focus on lower middle market mezzanine investing over the course of several decades has given us a unique appreciation of the challenges and opportunities facing small businesses at this end of the market. We seek to fill a gap in the capital structures of lower middle market companies by providing growth capital and acquisition financing that is otherwise unavailable from traditional lending sources. Unlike traditional private equity groups, we do not look to take control positions in our portfolio companies. Instead, we seek to partner with owners and management as minority shareholders to create lasting value that endures long after the time of our involvement.
